Weekend
Worship Services:
Saturday, 5:00 PM ;
Sunday, 8:00 and 10:30 AM Holy
Communion is
celebrated at each service of worship. Individual
Communion will be
brought to the home upon request. Educational
Period for all ages
of children and adults is from 9:00 – 10:00 AM each Sunday morning, September
through May. Nursery
Supervision for
children through their sixth birthday is provided during each service of worship
at 10:30 AM on Sundays. Baptisms
are arranged through the Pastor with time allowed for one pre-baptism counseling
session. Baptisms may take place at
any of the three services of worship. Sponsors
(Godparents) for children may be named. They
should be baptized members of a Christian church. First
Communion for
children occurs at an age determined in consultation with the pastor, parents
and child. Instruction in
preparation for First Communion Instruction
in preparation for Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) is for two years and
normally begins with youth entering grade 7. Classes meet September through May. Special arrangements are made with the Pastor as necessary. Weddings
should be arranged
with the Pastor at least two months in advance.
A minimum of four pre-marriage counseling sessions is required under
normal circumstances. Funeral
arrangements should be made in consultation with the Pastor.
The service may take place at the church or in the funeral home. New
Members are
received at St. Stephen periodically. Please
make your desire known to the Pastor. Lutherans are received by Letter of Transfer from their
previous congregation. Non-Lutherans
are received by baptism or Affirmation of Faith.
All new members are invited to attend an orientation session prior to
their reception. Private
Counseling for any
need may be arranged with the Pastor by request.
